Information we collect

We collect information that you enter into the student profile, including:

• Name, email address, country, date of birth, gender, and intended study countries.
• Education, grades, language of instruction, work experience, projects, test scores, certifications, publications, study plans, university preferences, and intended field of study.
• Country of citizenship, annual study budget, funding requirements, and scholarship applications or awards.
• Links you choose to provide for projects or other supporting material.
• Email verification details, profile progress, access timestamps, and basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Resume import

If you upload a PDF or DOCX resume, we process its text to suggest answers for your profile. The uploaded file and extracted text are not stored by ConsultUni after the import request is completed. Suggested answers remain in your browser until you review and save them through the form.

Resume extraction can be incomplete or inaccurate. You are responsible for checking imported information before saving it.

How we use information

We use your information to save and resume your profile, verify access, understand your academic and professional background, generate university recommendations, provide support, maintain security, and improve the service.

We do not sell student personal data.

Email verification and profile access

Your email address is verified using a randomly generated access code. The code is used to confirm ownership of the email address and to resume the profile later. Keep it private. Anyone with access to your email or access code may be able to access your profile.

Service providers and international processing

We use service providers for database hosting, website hosting, and email delivery. They process information only as needed to provide those services. Depending on their infrastructure, information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to contractual and technical safeguards and applicable law.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the security of the service, or to investigate misuse.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. During checkout, Dodo Payments may collect and process your name, email address, billing information, payment details, purchase details, device information, and other information needed for payment processing, fraud prevention, tax administration, refunds, disputes, and legal compliance.

ConsultUni may receive customer details, order identifiers, payment status, amount, currency, payment method type, timestamps, invoice information, and other transaction details needed to confirm and fulfil your consultation. Dodo Payments handles information it controls under its privacy policy.

Retention

We retain profile information while it is needed to provide recommendations, let you resume your profile, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain security. Verification records and technical logs may have shorter retention periods. You may request deletion by contacting us.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed, and it may prevent us from continuing to provide profile-based recommendations.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, limited database access, and other reasonable safeguards. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so you should protect your email account and profile access code.

Students under the legal age of consent

If you cannot legally consent to the processing of your personal data in your country, use ConsultUni only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
